Dell innovateFest 2024

1st Runner-Up Project

At Dell InnovateFest 2024, held on 26 September at the National Gallery of Singapore, Team SocialPilots from Singapore Polytechnic secured the First Runner-Up position in the Hackathon, winning $6,000. This competition included teams from both polytechnics and universities across Singapore, with a focus on empowering persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) to foster healthy interactions and appropriate social etiquette in the workplace.

Team SocialPilots, consisting of Year 2 students Soon Jing Yi, Lo Jia Yi, Johnson Pay Chong Jun (Diploma in Applied AI and Analytics), Sathivada Chandan Akshaj, and Leroy Hong Jae Yang (Diploma in Computer Engineering), developed Bloom, a cloud-native web app with an intuitive AI assistant.

Bloom helps PWIDs navigate workplace challenges by providing solutions, emotion-management videos, and enhancing essential skills like independence and emotional regulation. Its gamified feature allows users to grow a virtual plant as they interact with the app, symbolising their progress and development. Just like a flower in full bloom, users can grow, thrive, and confidently embrace the world around them.

Team SocialPilots hopes to plant the seeds of independence, inclusion, and growth, watching them blossom into something incredible.
